Hugh Michael Jackman is a famed Australian actor, producer, and singer. He was born on 12th October 1968, in Sydney, Australia. The youngest of five kids, Hugh was eight years old when his mother left the family. As a result, he and his siblings were largely brought up by his father.
He went to primary school at Pymble Public School and later attended the exclusive Knox Grammar School on the Upper North Shore of Sydney. After graduation, he got a job at the Uppingham School in England where he worked for one year.
On his return, Hugh joined the University of Technology, Sydney, where he graduated in 1991 with a BA in Communications. He got the first taste of professional acting on the stage, performing in many Melbourne musicals.
He quickly joined the international scene, gaining significant praise for his portrayals of Billy Bigelo in Carousel, New York City and Curly in Oklahoma, London.
Hugh is well known for his long-term role as the Wolverine in the X-Men series, and for his starring roles in the action-horror film Van Helsing (2004), the romantic-comedy fantasy Kate & Leopold (2001), the epic historical romantic drama Australia (2008), the magic-themed drama The Prestige (2006), the sci-fi sports drama Real Steel (2011), the thriller Prisoners (2013), and the film version of Les Misérables (2012).
He’s one of the highly recognized actors in the world. While he’ll forever be associated with one iconic role, Jackman has played several roles which have demonstrated his acting ability.

3. His top life goal as a young person was to become an international freelance journalist. He earned a degree in journalism before switching to acting.
4. He has a very blurry vision and is terribly near-sighted when he’s not wearing his contacts. Even when hosting Saturday Night Live (1975) and the Tonys, Hugh had to memorize nearly everything he needed to say so that he would not need to struggle reading.
